Rave Emergency Alert System
Maharishi University of Management has partnered with Rave Mobile Safety to provide an emergency alert system that delivers messages to your personal e-mail address, as well as to your cell phone.
Continuing students, new students, and faculty and staff are automatically opted in to the Rave Emergency Notification System when they register each semester. Newly added participants will receive a welcome message. Periodically, all campus residents including students receive a test e-mail for the Rave Emergency Alert System, with instructions for reviewing and managing contact information within Rave.
Rave Emergency Notifications are issued as part of MUM’s crisis management program. Notifications will be for major emergencies such as tornado warnings and emergency instructions that will alert students and campus residents what to do and where to proceed in the event of an emergency situation. This will allow students and campus residents to stay safe and keep out of harms way as a situation is happening. The system will not be used for minor situations such as weather advisories, campus event notifications, or cancellations of any kind.
If you want to reliably receive text notifications, we strongly recommend that you log in to your Rave account to enter or verify your cell phone number and provider. Otherwise, you may only be notified of emergency situations via e-mail.

What does the Rave service cost?
Rave does not charge students, faculty or staff for sending or receiving messages through this service. However, your carrier’s standard messaging and/or data charges may apply.

What type of messages will I receive?
In addition to the clarifications above, the University will only send you messages related to campus emergencies and a Rave system test each semester. You will never receive advertisements and your information is never provided to advertisers.
What is my username?
You determine your username (could be your e-mail address) and password. You will receive an initial start-up username and password from Rave Wireless that you may change online.
I already have contact information in the system. Where did this data come from?
The University pre-populates the Rave Campus Alert system with student, staff and faculty e-mail addresses and cell phone numbers provided to the University.
The University made every attempt to capture the maximum number of campus community members in developing the alert process. However, due to data limitations, some users may not be automatically populated. You may still sign up and use the Rave system by registering at the getrave site.
There are some users whom we could not import due to lack of data. Also, due to the timing of the data extraction and the data upload, there may be a gap of time between when you are either enrolled (students) or hired (staff and faculty) and when you are in the Rave system.
If you did not receive Rave sign-in information, we strongly encourage you to register with the Rave alert system https://www.getrave.com/login/mum manually.
What if I did not receive a welcome e-mail?
First, please be certain getrave.com, rave.com, and mum.edu are excluded from any spam filters or block lists in your e-mail client, spam blocking programs or your e-mail service. If you did not receive a welcome e-mail, you may still login by requesting a password reminder at the getrave site, using your e-mail address. If your e-mail address is not found, you may sign up directly by registering at the getrave site.
What mobile phone carriers are supported by the alert system?
All U.S. mobile carriers are supported.
What if my cell phone number changes?
If your mobile number or e-mail address changes, please login to the getrave site to update your contact details.
What if my cell phone provider changes?

Will I receive advertisements or text messaging SPAM from Rave Wireless?
No, never. We respect your privacy and you will never receive any messages other than official Maharishi University of Management emergency communications.
How will I identify incoming messages from Rave Campus Alert?
For these carriers, you will receive messages from @getrave.com.
I do not want to receive SMS (text) messages on my phone. How do I stop them?
If you have signed up to receive text alerts, you can stop these at any time by logging in to the getrave site and updating your profile.
Can I send myself a test message?
Yes, users can send a test e-mail to themselves. Log into your account. Next to each email address stored with your account (up to three), there is a button labeled “Test”. Clicking on this button causes a test message to be sent. Here is an example of the “Test” e-mail that will be sent:
