Filmmaker David Lynch, founder of an international charity that has brought Transcendental Meditation to more than one million under-resourced children worldwide, has issued a challenge to the world’s philanthropists: use a fraction of your wealth to establish large groups of advanced peace-creating meditation experts in Ukraine and other critical hotspots, and leave a legacy of world peace that will last for generations.

“The problem of violence, at its source, is stress—the escalating buildup of political and societal stress in collective consciousness that fuels conflict and warfare,” Lynch said.

“The only solution is to reduce the stress in collective consciousness—in society as a whole,” Lynch said. “Truly, there is no other way.”

Lynch said that the Russian invasion of Ukraine has made it clear that the solution to violence is not through a reliance on conventional weapons, nuclear weapons, economic sanctions, or diplomatic negotiations. “To continue to trust in these failed methods is, at this point, clearly insane,” Lynch said.

Akshaya Tritiya National Yagya

MAY 1 – MAY 11

DONATE BY APRIL 25

For the past two months, our US National Yagya performances have included appeals for a peaceful resolution to the danger in Ukraine. We are encouraged that military action in the region has not escalated into an all-out confrontation of nuclear nations, but the situation remains precarious.

We have the technology to defuse the tension and avert this danger, but of course, we have to apply it to a sufficient degree.

We need even bigger Yagyas

The next 11-day US National Yagya will incorporate—and gain strength from—Akshaya Tritiya, the Day of Auspicious Beginnings for Lasting Achievements, on May 3.

According to the Vedic texts, this was the day when the ancient Rishis performed the first Yagya in the history of humankind. This event also marks the beginning of a time when people lived happily in tune with Natural Law.

The special quality of this day is expressed in the word Akshaya, which means nondecaying or everlasting. Launching new endeavors and resolutions on this most auspicious day is said to bring long and lasting success, particularly when supported by a Yagya.

The Sankalpa (intention) of the Yagya will be:

Coherence, harmony, health, prosperity and spiritual awakening

for the United States—and all its people, and

Bringing healing, coherence, and peace

to all the people of the Ukraine and Russia region

Please CLICK NOW to join in.

May the full power of Nature’s Creative Intelligence guide and uplift America, and may Maharishi’s legacy of peace and enlightenment permanently bless the human race.

Akshaya Tritiya - Special Yagya Opportunity - Day of Lasting Achievements

May 3rd is Akshaya Tritiya, the Day of Lasting Achievements. On this auspicious day in the Vedic calendar, traditionally Yagyas are performed for long-lasting accomplishments and well-being on every level of life. This day is considered a highly fortunate time to begin and support important endeavors.

This is an ideal opportunity to have a Well-Being Special Yagya – on a day that supports the qualities of happiness, spiritual progress, good fortune and peace of mind. You may even have a birthday or plan a special starting point in your life on or near that time.

Applying for these Yagyas is very easy and can be done herePlease request your Yagya at least seven days in advance. To read more about the Special Yagyas please click here.

All proceeds from the Yagyas go towards supporting the Maharishi Vedic Pandits in India and are deeply appreciated.

Join Us at the “Genius Lounge”

Welcome to the “Genius Lounge,” a new audio series with Bob Roth, CEO of the David Lynch Foundation, author of the NY Times bestseller, “Strength in Stillness,” and 50-year teacher of Transcendental Meditation®.

Why do we call it Genius Lounge?

This audio series focuses on the genius of nature, from microscopic to macroscopic, including the genius of the human brain and body. The name was inspired by brain researchers who have identified key networks within the brain that underlie and foster the creative process. One such network is the “Default Mode Network,” which has also been called the “Imagination Network” and the “Genius Lounge.” Innovation gets its start here—and the practice of Transcendental Meditation accelerates the process by strengthening the creative networks within the brain and by removing the restrictive impact of stress.

In each episode, Bob shares a few minutes of exciting research findings on the brain, ancient and modern insights into consciousness, and/or inspiration to live a healthier, happier life.

Axios Learns TM: "Why Not Us?"

By Jim VandeHei and Mike Allen

April 13 2022

We’re pleased to share this excellent article, “Time to Meditate,” on Transcendental Meditation® and the David Lynch Foundation which appeared yesterday in Axios, one of the most respected national political news outlets, read by leading media and lawmakers alike.

All three Axios co-founders — Jim, Roy Schwartz and Mike — are trying something we never imagined: transcendental meditation (TM).

Why it matters: We're perpetually in motion and distracted. If millions of people over thousands of years found peace and clearer minds with mantras and quiet meditation, why not us?

  • We're taking classes this week — and plan to report back to you in a few months if any of us stuck with it, and found the benefits others claim. We'd love to hear your TM success — or failure — stories.
  • If nothing else, TM is getting us off life's Habitrail, if even for a couple of 20-minute chunks a day.

NEW! Something we’ve never really discussed like this before—Nothing! It was a joy and a delight to meet with Dr. Robert Lawrence Kuhn, creator, writer, host and executive producer of the long-running public television series on PBS stations, Closer to Truth, to discuss: Why is there something rather than nothing? https://youtu.be/i2jtHJx1-OA

New Audio eBook:

Maharishi on Peace of Mind - 1960

In this beautiful lecture from 1960, Maharishi explains why gaining lasting happiness is the prerequisite for being able to live a peaceful life.

'On the platform of Bliss, peace can be established in a permanent manner. Essentially, the state of happiness is the basis of lasting peace in daily life.'

This eBook with audio along with the text from this lecture includes some very beautiful pictures of Maharishi. We highly recommend viewing it on a computer with Google Chrome as this gives a very full and enjoyable experience. Please turn the pages slowly and wait for the audio bar to begin playing on the selected pages with audio. The first audio bar appears on page 4 after the title pages.

Support the Expanded Campaign

for Peace-Creating Groups for

Ukraine & Russia

Tragically, the war in Ukraine continues with widespread death and destruction on all sides, so we are compelled to redouble our efforts to defuse the acute tensions and create the conditions for a peaceful resolution.

Generous donations have made organizing and maintaining peace-creating groups in Ukraine, Russia, Romania, and Georgia possible. Over 1,500 well-wishers have contributed $300,000 to our GoFundMe campaign, and the U.S. and international Transcendental Meditation (TM®) organizations have doubled their support from $150,000 to $300,000.

Every day for the past two months, participants in these World Peace Assemblies (WPAs) have expressed their gratitude to all those international donors who have made these courses possible. One woman from Ukraine commented, “I speak for everyone when I recognize and appreciate every donor—I would not be here without you and would have no hope. Without peace in our hearts, there will never be peace in the world, and without peace, we are living less than a human life.” See below to view a short video from the course participants.

Additional funding will enable us to expand the current groups of volunteers and extend their stays through early June by covering food and lodging costs for $20–30/day per person. We’re also launching a special one-month training course for the advanced TM‑Sidhi® program. Course participants will augment the peace-creating effect of the Sidhas already assembled in each country:

  • Ukraine: 50 on WPA + 50 starting TM-Sidhi course = 100 total
  • Russia: 95 on WPA + 80 on TM-Sidhi course = 175 total
  • Romania: 75 on WPA + 85 starting TM-Sidhi course = 160 total
  • Georgia: 30 + 20 from Armenia starting TM-Sidhi course = 50 total

All these 485 Sidhas and course participants will be safe and comfortable, practicing the TM-Sidhi program to powerfully awaken the deep silence and coherence of the field of Transcendental Consciousness for themselves, their countries, and the region.

Filmmaker David Lynch sets up $500M fund in Fairfield to bring world peace through transcendental meditation Isaac Hamlet April 16, 2022

Residents of Fairfield have reason to break out celebratory cherry pie as filmmaker David Lynch announced a plan for world peace that begins in the southeastern Iowa town.

The director behind "Mulholland Drive" and "Twin Peaks" announced a program that would invest about $500 million its first year, in partnership with Global Union of Scientists for Peace in Fairfield.

“The problem of violence, at its source, is stress — the escalating buildup of political and societal stress in collective consciousness that fuels conflict and warfare,” Lynch said in a Thursday release, posted to the website of the Global Union of Scientists for Peace, introducing an initiative to fund transcendental meditation training for thousands of students around the world.

David Lynch Launches $500 Million World Peace Initiative: 'Things Are Very Precarious' By Jen Juneau April 14, 2022

The money will help to train "thousands of university students to become expert meditation activists" and "establish a legacy of lasting global peace"

David Lynch is making strides toward world peace. The 76-year-old Twin Peaks creator and David Lynch Foundation founder has announced plans for an initiative that will aim to fund transcendental meditation (TM) training for 30,000 college students, in an effort to help them "become advanced peace-creating meditation experts and build a legacy of lasting global peace," according to a release.

In a video call to action about the initiative — of which there are plans to invest about $500 million in the first year — Lynch says, "We don't know what tomorrow's gonna bring if we don't get peace on this planet."

"This war in Ukraine ... people were saying it's not gonna happen, and now it's happened. People are dying. Cities are being destroyed," he continues. "Things are very, very precarious. Everybody knows it."

Transcendental Meditation can help reduce burnout in teachers, EU-funded research reveals April 7, 2022

April is Stress Awareness Month highlighting the impact of stress on physical and mental health.

Transcendental Meditation (TM), as founded by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, is an easy, natural antidote to stress validated by an extensive body of scientifically proven research.

According to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), stress, depression or anxiety accounted for 50% of all work-related ill health cases in 2020/21. The World Health Organisation has recently redefined burnout as a ‘syndrome linked to chronic work stress that has not been successfully managed’.

“In school teaching, the stress is the killer—once you let it get on top of you, everything can go downhill frighteningly fast. I’ve seen it happen to a lot of colleagues,” said Francis Chalmers, associate lecturer in mathematics at the Open University. “During my 17 years as a secondary mathematics teacher, I was often really busy, but I never felt overwhelmed. I put this down to practising TM twice a day.”

FRIENDS, a two-year EU-funded project implementing the Quiet Time with Transcendental Meditation (QT/TM) programme in educational settings with a high proportion of disadvantaged students in Italy, Portugal, Belgium and the UK, revealed decreased stress, anxiety and burnout in teachers.

Findings showed that after learning QT/TM, there was a decrease in stress, anxiety and burnout, while job satisfaction, optimism, and wellbeing increased

A total of 1,800 students and learners, 900 teachers, and 200 parents took part in the project to foster resilience, inclusive education and non-discrimination in schools. Participants were trained in the QT/TM programme, which adds 10 to 15 minutes at the beginning and end of the school day. During that time, they practise the simple, natural Transcendental Meditation technique to achieve a state of profound rest physically and inner calm and alertness mentally.
