Creating coherence in troubled regions of our world with Yoga and Yagya

Romania – Raja Felix Kägi and Mother of Domain Livia

We felt the need for creating peace from outside of the two hot spot countries and created another group of Sidhas in Mamaia, Romania, 110 km south of the Ukraine border. There are more than 300 applicants since the World Peace Assembly (WPA) was announced one month ago – presently about 70 Yogic Flyers who profoundly enjoy being there – the knowledge, the long programme, and the awareness of contributing to something bigger. All three groups, Russia, Ukraine, and Romania are connected daily and share their experiences. It is a powerful atmosphere! 

Ukraine – Raja Kingsley reports

There are now over 50 participants on the WPA in Ukraine. Everything is going extremely well and it is growing slowly. Although traveling in the country is very restricted, the group is very stable and having constant very deep experiences. They are enjoying the daily meetings with Prime Minister Dr Bevan Morris and Dr Lila Maria Hartmann-Stein and the Rajas of the three countries, which provides much stability and connection between the three groups, so that all three groups feel united, feel as one group with the others.

Russia – Raja Bjarne reports

The assembly in Russia started around 5 weeks ago in Anapa. It began with 30 people and now has grown to 90 Sidhas. In addition, a TM-Sidhi course is going on with 80 participants and at least half of them want to stay longer after the course finishes. The total number in Russia now is 170 participants. Experiences are very similar to those in Romania and Ukraine: many ‘first class’ experiences of unity consciousness. They are talking about Vedic cognition, and you see such experiences coming up already one week after joining such a group. 

 

The first Maharishi Peace Palace in the Middle East

Lebanon has secured a perfect and beautiful land to build the first Maharishi Peace Palace in the Middle East, to provide homes for coherence and a home for total knowledge in the region. It will support the enlightenment of individuals and peace, prosperity, and invincibility for the nation.

Located in serene surroundings with breathtaking views, a perfect property 22 km southeast of Beirut has been donated for this purpose.

This grand three-story Peace Palace will serve as a beacon of light for Lebanon and the region as a whole.

Q: What are Advanced Techniques?

A: Like the TM technique, Advanced Techniques are easily-practiced mental techniques that accelerate personal growth. During TM, we experience a fourth state of consciousness, a state of restful alertness that dissolves stress, enhances brain functioning, and balances the body and emotions. Advanced Techniques speed up the integration of this state with our regular daily activity, bringing faster results from our TM practice.

Q: How many are there?

A: There are four Advanced Techniques brought to light by Maharishi in his Vedic Science and Technology, the Science and Technology of Consciousness. The first is practiced for a few minutes before going to sleep. The second, third, and fourth Advanced Techniques are effortlessly incorporated into your twice-daily TM practice.

Q: Do I learn them all at once or one at a time?

A: One at a time and in sequence. You’ll practice an Advanced Technique at least two to four months before adding the next one.

Q: Who teaches the Advanced Techniques?

A: Specially trained, highly experienced certified TM teacher Mario Orsatti has been teaching the TM technique since 1973 and the Advanced Technique courses for the last 4 years. He is the Executive Director of the Center for Health and Wellness at the David Lynch Foundation, where he oversees TM programs for government and military leaders in Washington, D.C., and for business executives in New York City. He will be present at each session for instruction and verification.

Q: Who can learn, and how do I know if I’m ready?

A: You must have practiced TM regularly, twice a day, for a minimum of the last two months to be eligible to apply for an Advanced Technique. Each technique is simple—easy to learn, easy to practice—and, best of all, enjoyable! That said, if you’d like our advice regarding your personal readiness, just give us a call.

Q: What is the course structure?

A: The course consists of three sessions:

  • First, an orientation meeting (1½ hours)
  • Second, personal instruction in the appropriate Advanced Technique (2–3 hours)
  • Third, a checking meeting the following day to answer questions and verify the correctness of your practice (2 hours)

Orientation: An orientation meeting is an opportunity to learn more about Advanced Techniques. It is free, and there is no obligation to take the course. But if you want to learn an Advanced Technique at this time, you must attend the orientation meeting and then fill out an application form. The orientation meeting will be held on Friday May 20-th at 2:00 PM.

The world we generally take to be real is only one version of the world, the one our senses and our minds allow us to experience, and that experience is different for every single human being. Do you think we’re stuck within the limitations of our senses, which can only deliver impressions within the range that they were designed to recognize?

Bernardo Kastrup is the executive director of Essentia Foundation. His work has been leading the modern renaissance of metaphysical idealism, the notion that reality is essentially mental. He has a Ph.D. in philosophy (ontology, philosophy of mind) and another Ph.D. in computer engineering (reconfigurable computing, artificial intelligence).

As a scientist, Bernardo has worked for the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and the Philips Research Laboratories (where the “Casimir Effect” of Quantum Field Theory was discovered). His work has been leading the modern renaissance of metaphysical idealism, the notion that reality is essentially mental. He has a Ph.D. in philosophy (ontology, philosophy of mind) and another Ph.D. in computer engineering (reconfigurable computing, artificial intelligence).

Formulated in detail in many academic papers and books, his ideas have been featured on Scientific American, the Institute of Art and Ideas, the Blog of the American Philosophical Association, and Big Think, among others. Bernardo’s most recent book is Science Ideated: The fall of matter and the contours of the next mainstream scientific worldview.

FAIRFIELD, Iowa — Could your interior design skills actually save your physical and mental health? A new study explains that just by pointing your bed and other furniture in the right direction, your well-being could greatly improve!

A team from Maharishi International University looked at 40 years of research into the practice of Maharishi Vastu architecture (MVA). Whether you call it “Zen” or “flow,” they found that where certain objects are inside a building — as well as the direction they face — can impact everything from stress, to sleep, to mental health.

Managing the Built Environment for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention With Maharishi Vastu Architecture: A Review April 27, 2022

Background and objectives

The evolution of healthcare from 18th-century reductionism to 21st-century postgenomic holism has been described in terms of systems medicine, and the impact of the built environment on human health is the focus of investigation and development, leading to the new specialty of evidence-based, therapeutic architecture. The traditional system of Vāstu architecture—a design paradigm for buildings which is proposed to promote mental and physical health—has been applied and studied in the West in the last 20 years, and features elements absent from other approaches. This review critically evaluates the theory and research of a well-developed, standardized form of Vāstu—Maharishi Vastu® architecture (MVA). MVA’s principles include development of the architect’s consciousness, universal recommendations for building orientation, siting, and dimensions; placement of key functions; and occupants’ head direction when sleeping or performing tasks. The effects of isolated Vāstu elements included in MVA are presented. However, the full value of MVA, documented as a systematic, globally applicable practice, is in the effect of its complete package, and thus this review of MVA includes evaluating the experience of living and working in MVA buildings.

Methods

The published medical and health-related literature was systematically surveyed for research on factors related to isolated principles applied in MVA as well as on the complete system.

Results

Published research suggests that incorporating MVA principles into buildings correlates with significant improvements in occupants’ physical and mental health and quality of life: better sleep, greater happiness of children, and the experience of heightened sense of security and reduced stress. The frequency of burglaries, a social determinant of health, also correlates. Potential neurophysiological mechanisms are described.

Conclusions

Findings suggest that MVA offers an actionable approach for managing a key social determinant of health by using architectural design as preventive medicine and in public health.

Oren Whyche‑Shaw—who is currently being considered by the U.S. Senate as President Joseph Biden’s nominee for U.S. Director of the African Development Bank—discusses her career in international development and the growing efforts to bring resources to the continent of Africa. She also talks about the importance of her practice of the TM technique for her work and personal life.

Ms. Whyche‑Shaw was Deputy Assistant Administrator of the Africa Bureau of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) from 2015 to 2020. While at USAID, she served as the Interagency Coordinator for the G8 Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition as well as Coordinator for the Partnership in Growth and the Trade Africa Initiative. She has also led the Bureau’s private sector, financial access, and trade development activities as well as USAID’s engagement with the African diaspora in the United States.

Oren Whyche‑Shaw—who is currently being considered by the U.S. Senate as President Joseph Biden’s nominee for U.S. Director of the African Development Bank—discusses her career in international development and the growing efforts to bring resources to the continent of Africa.

Prior to joining USAID in 2011, Ms. Whyche‑Shaw served as the Director for the Office of African Nations and as Senior Advisor in the Multilateral Development Bank Office of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. While there, she conceived of the African Mortgage Markets Initiative, which was announced by President George W. Bush during his trip to Africa in 2003.

Ms. Whyche‑Shaw’s diversified career before joining the U.S. Government includes leadership positions in the private, financial, not‑for‑profit, and multilateral sectors. She led agricultural and entrepreneurial development projects as Director for Africa with TechnoServe, Inc. She also held leadership positions in the Private Sector Investments Department at the African Development Bank and represented the Bank on the board of the African Export‑Import Bank. In addition, she was an international investment banker with Citibank, N.A., and a corporate banker with J. P. Morgan & Co.

Soap Hub Wellness Wednesday: Wally Kurth Fits In Well-Rounded Workout

Part of a soap star’s job is to look good for the camera. However, when performers take care of themselves, they do more than look good — they feel good. In this latest installment of Wellness Wednesday, actor Wally Kurth talks about staying in shape both physically and mentally.

Kurth is busy not only as Ned Quartermaine on General Hospital but he also plays Justin Kiriakis on Days of our Lives. So the actor has a schedule that’s regularly in flux. Still, the performer does his best to adhere to a schedule in order to stay in shape.

Soap Hub: Every day can be different for you, so how do you schedule fitness into your life?

Wally Kurth: Every day is different, but I do have a regime. I play tennis on the weekends when I can. I take a Gentle Yoga class, which is a stretching class on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I swim. That’s my workout. That’s it. I like to get out and play tennis on the weekends. If I can’t get to my regularly scheduled yoga class, I’ll get into one later. It’s so important to keep my back open and stretch the shoulders and muscles and open them up. I want to keep expanding.

Soap Hub: Do you meditate? If so, how did you get started with it?

Wally Kurth: I came from a family where my older sister teaches transcendental meditation. She taught me when I was 15. Growing up, I might have been diagnosed with ADD. I was not a great student. Somehow I got into UCLA. I had a hard time concentrating. I was the class clown. Reading was always hard. When I went to college, I knew I had to step up. I wasn’t doing any medication, but I was doing meditation. That really helped me. When I left UCLA to do The Pirates of Penzance on Broadway, I’m convinced that my meditation gave me the concentration to take on certain [challenges].

When I first started DAYS and I was working every day, I’d meditate and that helped me with memorization. I could handle this immense amount of work. I believe in the power of mediation. I’m a big believer in it. There are times I don’t do it regularly. I don’t do transcendental meditation like I used to, but if I have a concert lined up or a lot of work on set, then I’ll close my eyes and try to stay in the moment to prepare for [what’s next]. So much of acting is being in the moment and meditation helps me.

Phoebe is big into Transcendental Meditation (TM), a form of silent repeated mantra meditation which involves practicing a state of relaxed awareness and avoiding distracting thoughts to ease anxiety and promote self-realization. It was popularized in the mid-fifties by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and made extra-famous by fans, The Beatles.

She shared on her Instagram: ‘2020 has been chaotic to say the least, I don’t think we often realize the effects that it has on our psyche. The best thing I did for myself this year was learning @transcendentalmeditation and knowing that beneath the chaos of our minds there’s a state of pure consciousness, no noise, just being.’
