Temporary Suspension of Newsletter

Dear Faculty and Staff,

This will be the last issue of this newsletter under the current format. Based on your input from the Staff Satisfaction Survey and on feedback from University leadership, we’re overhauling and redesigning this publication, both content and layout.

We want the content to be as interesting and relevant to you as possible. We’re aiming at a webpage/blog format, well-organized and professional looking, with lots of photos and videos and with previous posts easily accessible and searchable

For this to happen, we need your help and input. Here are our main content ideas so far:

  • University news — staff successes, faculty achievements, enrollment and fundraising updates, major decisions and new developments. The staff survey showed that people want more knowledge of the university as a whole and more recognition and appreciation for what they do.
  • Best practice news – when a department streamlines a procedure, acquires new software, etc. — to keep the spirit of continuous improvement in the air.
  • Personal news — introduce new staff and faculty members . . . celebrate personal milestones (5, 10, 15, etc., years working for the university) . . . birthdays, weddings, children. We want to strengthen our sense of community.
  • Human interest stories – from individuals or departments — interesting university-related experiences (support of nature, humorous experiences on the job, etc.)
  • Personal creative contributions — poetry, drawings, etc.
  • Experiences of growth of consciousness – this is why we are here.

Please let us know if you have any other suggestions. We’ll be reaching out to you.
